Yesterday at a little after 6:00 PM my TaxAide season came to an end. I met a lot of really nice people and saw quite a few from past years. I thank Pat at ECCC and Eileen at the library for keeping them at bay. Now I can stow the alarm clock until next year.
Today the dogs and I went for a long walk in the state forest. Jodie and Coco run constantly from the woods on one side of the road to the woods on the other side. There are a lot of animal tracks but I can only identify a few. We saw rabbit tracks as well as deer. Something perhaps the size of a fox or bobcat or possibly a coyote crossed the sandy road a number of times. I saw a number of large bird tracks in one area and wondered what made them. The last time we were out there Coco flushed a turkey, so perhaps the tracks were from turkeys. There were also a lot of small tracks made by something very small, like field mice.
Back home, we opened the door to the patio and the dogs bounded into the pool. Jodie swam several laps of the pool to cool down. Coco jumped in at once then wanted us to throw the tennis ball for her. Now Jodie is waiting to play "tug" with another toy.
I'm contemplating what to do next. Treat the yard for moles? Work on the motorhome? Nap?
Nope, taking a nap now would put me in the doghouse. I think I'll take option one. That will free me up to do whatever I want later.
